Media Technology

The Media Technology team helps the church produce an inviting worship experience.  The media group is responsible for the video, audio, lights and overall successful production for each service.  No experience required, training is provided.

Ministry Mission

Our ministry helps to provide an environment to worship the King unhindered by the distractions around us. Our video work captures the glory of what God is doing here at Celebration and allows our church service to be multiplied over and over through the recordings played back on the internet or cable TV. Easyworship helps people worship God with words (lyrics) and to provide visual notes in coordination with the message presented by the speaker. (For those of us who like to write those notes down!) Lights create a visual picture of the beauty of what we feel inside when we worship God. Sound helps to bring everyone onto the same track focused on the King.

Ministry Servant Opportunities

Sound Board

Sound Board Operator

The sound board operator for the main sanctuary is a key element in our church worship. The person has direct control over all audio output during all service, church productions, and special events. This is by invitation only based on the high technical experience (sound engineering degree or student) required.

Congo Light Board

Light Board Operator

The light board operator for the main sanctuary is a key element to our church worship experience. This person has direct control over all lighting in the sanctuary including the house lights, stage lights, intelligent lighting, lobby lighting, and Deaf & Hard of Hearing Interpreter lights. The light board operator needs to be a highly technical person with the ability to respond quickly and creatively to worship music. The light board operator creates a worship or praise mood through the artistic use of lighting. Light operators must arrive by 8:40 AM Sunday and no later than 6:20 PM Wednesday.

Easy Worship Logo

Power Point (EasyWorship) Operator

This person is responsible for all images, videos, and lyrics shown on the screens during services and special events as produced through the EasyWorship computer. They will create and/or run visually inspiring background content in an artistic and skillful manner through computer know-how (training provided), musical timing (you have it or don’t), and experienced use of the Easy Worship software for corporate lyrics in worship services and special events. The first service Power Point Operator should be at the church by 8:45 AM Sunday morning to create or verify the “schedule” (slides) for services and run through the songs with the worship team during practice to catch those “gotcha” challenges. The first service Power Point operator is also the assistant to the Tech Director (Tricaster) to help with sermon notes and bible references (green-screen) for video overlay if that is used. The second service Power Point operator should arrive at 10:50am to review any notes from the previous service.

Video Camera

Camera Operator

The camera operator is responsible for the operation and control of their camera during the entire service. This person will compose the images that are used for videotaping, and enable others outside the main worship room to view the service including in the lobby and the internet. Using the camera as their tool and following the cues from the Technical Director or Director, they use a steady hand, dedicated attention, and an eye for detail to guide the camera to the picture desired. A steady hand, the ability to react quickly and accurately, smooth zooming, panning and tilting when needed, and keeping the subject in focus are required.

The first service camera operators should arrive 9:00am for the first service and have their checklists completed 15 minutes before the service begins. This will give the Tech Director and Director ample time to correct any issues that may arise. Because service can be very dynamic and change at the last minute, Camera operators should be on headset 5 minutes before service begins. (When the countdown video begins)

Tech Director

The Tech Director is crucial to the outcome production of services. Through the use of the Tricaster, the Technical Director controls the output of video and on screen announcements to the video monitors placed in various positions around the church building including the sanctuary, lobby, green room, choir room, nurseries, etc. They are responsible for the quality of the video production and use of overlays to augment the service in a professional, non-distracting way. They are responsible to record video to hard drive and DVD rom.

The Tech Director is in direct communication with the camera operators in the sanctuary through Telex (headset) by which they call camera shots and switch between the different camera angles. The Tech Director works very closely with the Power Point operators to coordinate lyrics for songs, video overlay for scriptures, and nursery announcements. The Tech Director understands the components of a successful service production.

The Tech Director is typically capable of filling vacant volunteer positions for 3 of the 4 volunteer positions: PowerPoint Operator, Camera Operator, Light Operator and Sound Operator.

Tech Directors should arrive no later than 8:45 AM Sunday or 6:00 PM Wednesday.

Director

This position is responsible for the flow of the service and help to call cues and actions for the rest of the team. The Director will make sure the clock/timer is on cue. They are responsible for the success or failure of the service and answer directly to the Fine Arts Director. As the leader for the technical teams, they also provide help with: operational guidance, trainings, troubleshooting, and communication skills. The least senior Director will typically be responsible for the Technical Director position in absence of the Technical Director.

The Director is capable of filling in any volunteer position that is vacant. (Tech Director, Camera Operator, Power Point Operator, Light Board Operator, Sound Board Operator)

Directors should arrive no later than 8:15 AM Sunday or 6:00 PM Wednesday.
