Old Wine
vs. New Wine
The Old Wine:
- The church is like a bank,
providing services for me.
- The pastor and staff do
the ministry in the church.
- People go to a service
and then go home.
- People give sporadically
to God and worry about their own problems.
- People live in mediocrity,
trying to survive until the Lord returns or they die.
- People worship the Lord based on
how they feel.
- People live their life and hope they come to Jesus before they die.
- People say hello to each other on
Sunday, but remain closed and distant.
- People are cold and self-centered.
The New Wine:
- The church is made up of
people who are called to serve.
- The pastor and staff train
and equip people to do the ministry.
- People know the vision God has
given and participate in it.
- People submit to
God's leadership and become good stewards by
responding with tithes and offerings.
- People live life in victory,
conquering the work of the devil through prayer.
- People worship God in faith
based on who He is.
- People are examples and share
the Gospel each week.
- Attendees actively
love people by pursuing friendships with people.
- The church has a passion
for Jesus Christ and compassion for others.
- The children and youth are
trained and activated to minister to peers
and lead friends to Jesus Christ.
